To Utter Dismay of Eritrea Tyrant & Co., R2P Included in UNGA72 Formal Agenda

17 September 2017

United Nations, New York, Friday, 15 September 2017-Acting on the recommendation of its General Committee, the General Assembly adopted the work programme and agenda for its seventy-second session (UNGA72), which kicks off with the general debate on Tuesday, 20 September 2017, deciding for the first time in 12 years to include the item "The Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and the prevention of
genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity". As expected Eritrea tyrant voted against it for obvious reasons: R2P deals with actions against and accountability for Crimes against Humanity for which the UN has charged the tyrant. The tyrant's unfavorable vote was dwarfed by the overwhelming favorable vote to the extent of utter embarrassment.
