The Eritreans of San Jose, Ca. Support the
Eritrean Congress!

On Saturday
March 2, 2002, Four hundred fifty Eritreans from San Jose, Ca. Gathered in
Santa Clara, with Tareke band from Eritrea, In support of their people and
Government; Voiced their support unanimously to the resolution of the
fourteenth session of the Eritrean Congress February 2, 2002.
Below is the full text that was read by Yohanes Kahsi, and unanimously
supported with applause .
It is about twenty years since the first big refuge influxes of our people to
this Valley begin. Through all this years our people have shown tremendous
pull in-working together, not only to adjust to what has become our home. But
also during the time of our country's great difficulties. Thinking and
reaching out to our families, relatives and friends whom we left behind, in
their bitter struggle to liberate Eritrea .
Today at the vertex of our ongoing bitter struggle to defend our sovereignty;
our country is encountering tremendous challenges from different
corners.
Hence we assure our people; congress and government that:
-We will stand firmly behind them in their noble task of national defense
and nation building.
-We support all individuals and groups foreign and domestic who are
participating and dedicating their expertise and wealth to support our
peoples need-in health, education and construction etc…
-We condemn all efforts by any individual or group domestic or foreign, who
is perpetuating cliche to advance its personal goal, through disseminating
misinformation, to create chaos and anarchy to destroy a country that was
liberated at a cost of fifty years blood.
-We strongly resent, current activities of the EU. Which was initiated
by few countries with a vendetta to intimidate our resolute leaders.
-We applaud, those countries in Europe and else where, who are standing by
us, and, who are at the forefront to bring peace in the region.
We shoulder any burden, we fight any foe, that stands in a way of our people
and government.
