Eritrea:
Monumental Success Of Anti-Tyranny Forces In Addis
12
May 2008 (EritreaDaily)---Reports coming from Addis Ababa heralded
monumental success of the meeting of forces opposed to Afewerki’s
tyrannical regime in Eritrea.

13
Eritrean political organizations including members of diaspora civic
organizations from Africa, Europe, the USA and religious elders have
been deliberating on how to forge a common front against the brutal
tyrannical rule of Isaias Afewerki that has befallen our country
Eritrea ever since it re-claimed national independence in 1991.
Finally,
to the delight and relief of all anti-tyrannical Eritreans, the
hitherto disputatious political organizations met the expectations:
They came out with a front united under one common chapter and
consensus leadership forging an umbrella organization called Eritrean
Democratic Alliance (EDA).
Reportedly,
the meeting established a 26-member Central Council that is headed by
veteran fighters Mr. Abdella Mahmoud as the chairperson and Mr.
Tewelde Gebresselase as its Secretary General.
Further,
the meeting adopted pertinent resolutions:
The
border issue: The gathering called upon Eritrea and Ethiopia to
abide by the decision of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission
(EEBC) and urged both countries to bring this matter to its
conclusion via
peaceful means.
Eritrea:
The gathered invited Eritrea tyrant Afewerki to enter into dialogue
with the EDA aimed at ending tyranny and bringing about
constitutional governance of our country by peaceful means.
Somalia:
The gathered called upon the brotherly people of Somalia to end the
infighting and to resolve whatever differences they might have
peacefully and expressed their support for the recent Djiboutian
initiative in this matter.
Finally,
the gathering called for a comprehensive national conference, date to
be determined yet, to redeem the nation from the damaging
consequences of the long tyrannical rule and to restore national
unity.
