Eritrea:
Refugee Trust sowing some seeds of hope
21
Feb, 2006
'HOME-grown
miracles for Eritrea' is the name of the latest campaign to aid the
people of the developing world from the charity Refugee
Trust.
Steve
Humphreys' picture shows Irish gardener Diarmuid Gavin with a Moringa
Tree in the Botanic Gardens, Dublin with Jamie Lawless (7) from
Blanchardstown and Danait Haile (12) from Balbriggan.
The
new campaign aims to encourage members of the public to raise money
to provide families in Eritrea with the equipment and the education
required to plant and cultivate the Moringa Tree.
Eritrea
is a small country in the Horn of Africa extending along the Red Sea
between Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti. The country gained its
independence from Ethiopia after a war over 30 years, and left the
countryside devastated.
