Eight Eritrean Soldiers Held In Yemen

02 August 2008, Sahwa Net – Eight Eritrean soldiers have been held by Yemen's coastguards in Hodaida province, security sources said.

The sources said that the Eritrean soldiers were hunting a Yemeni fishing boat in Yemen's territorial waters, pointing out that there was a woman among the soldiers.

They also made clear that preliminary investigations said that the soldiers were subject to forced recruitment by the authorities of their state, which pushed them to leave Eritrea towards Yemen's coasts. Posted to the web 30 July 2008
