Eritrea
Tyrant At Loggerheads With Security Council Again
15
May 2009 (Eritrea Daily)--
Eritrea tyrant, Isias Afewarki, is constantly at loggerheads with the
UN Security Council over almost every thing that does not go his way.
Hitherto, the tyrant has been at loggerheads with the Security
Council over Djibouti, Sudan, Somalia, Peace keeping mission, piracy,
not to mention Ethiopia, just to mention a few! Reason: Afewarki couldn't get the UN
Security Council to operate his tyrannical way!
This
time around, Afewarki is at serious loggerheads with the Security
Council over casus
Somalia.
In a press
release
issued yesterday, tyrant Afewarki charged the Security Council with
exacerbating the political vaccuum “that has enveloped
Somalia”, endorsing a government that doesn't represent even
“neighborhoods in Mogadisho let alone entire Somali people”
aggravating “piracy, lawlessness, and compounding “the
suffering of the Somali people”.
In the
press release, Afewarki went as far as lecturing the UN on its own
Charter and international law. Afewarki labeled Security Council
action as “a grave breach of the Charter of the United Nations
and international law” and warned of “deleterious
consequences”.
“The
United Nations Security Council continues to doggedly condone
ephemeral trends in Somalia as given and legitimate; and, to endorse
illicit and externally imposed "transitional governments"
that do not represent neighborhoods in Mogadiscio let alone the
entire Somali people. The UN Security Council has further condoned
acts of external invasion against Somalia. It is clear that these
misguided positions contravene the independence, sovereignty as well
as unity of Somalia and constitute a grave breach of the Charter of
the United Nations and international law.
These
illegal and unconstructive positions of the Security Council have
exacerbated the political vacuum that has enveloped Somalia;
aggravated piracy and lawlessness; and, compounded the suffering of
the Somali people. These acts have further accentuated the prevalent
instability in the Horn of Africa.
In
the event, the Government of Eritrea urges the UN Security Council to
take remedial action by taking stock of these violations and the
deleterious consequences that they have entailed” said the
press release.
This
is not going to be the last time Afewarki finding himself at loggerheads
with the UN. Expect more, because Afewarki is in denial about the
maxim “doing the same thing over and over and expecting a
different result is insanity”. Afewarki may get away with it,
but the people and country of Eritrea are undeservedly paying for it
dearly politically, diplomatically, socially and economically. How
long, yet, Eritrea?
To the Security Council, be afraid, very afraid, because tyrant Afewarki is going to turn the Horn of Africa into some thing you will never be able to handle if you don't do it his way!
