Eritrea:
Conference On Nitpicking & Flyspecking Democracy Kicks Off
 Eritrea
tyrant, Isias Afewarki, nitpicking and flyspecking democracy on
behalf of tyranny!
21 May 2009,
Asmara, Eritrea – Hurray! As advertised, on his own behalf and
on behalf of yet another tyrant-for-life, Libya tyrant Gadaffi,
Eritrea tyrant today kicked off the official start of 'International
Conference On Nitpicking & Flyspecking Democracy' under the
multi-layered guise of “Democracy in Africa: Current Situation and
Prospects” taking place in a hotel in Asmara, capital city
of Eritrea, now, thanks to tyrant Afewarki, turned into capital city
of international tyrants, democracy bashers, and anti-democracy
forces for the duration of the conference!
Afewarki
did not waste any time. He started nitpicking and flyspecking
democracy right at the beginning of his address to the opening
session. He distinguished between real, genuine, and various versions
of democracy.
“..democracy
is not an end by itself but one of the significant bases for the
development of peoples and societies.” No
one said democracy is an end by itself? As a matter of fact,
democracy is not even an end, it is an open-ended societal process. Tyrant
Afewarki, whatever you call it, end or process, there is no end or
process without a beginning and that beginning is called a
government of, by, and for the people? WHAT IS YOUR OTHER OPTION?
“ ....short
of ensuring the economic, social, cultural and political rights of
societies, real democracy cannot prevail.” Ok, what is the
other option that ensures all you listed if democracy ain't gonna do
it?
“it
is distressing to see the national resources of a given country being
exploited and monopolized by handful individuals in the name of
democracy on the one hand, and citizens deprived of opportunities and
resources of their country on the other. If real democracy is prevail
at all, there should exist equitable allocation of resources and the
rights of the people respected” OK, if democracy has become
a ploy to exploit and monopolize a country's resources, again, WHAT
IS THE OTHER OPTION?
“...cultural
diversity, religion or ethnicity are viewed as symbol of dignity and
source of strength in a number of societies,...as long as there exist
social marginalization and discrimination, crisis and discord
naturally ensue. ” OK, if not democracy, WHAT IS THE OTHER
OPTION that preserves cultural diversity, religion, or ethnicity,
sir?
“....the
question of democracy still remains complex and one that is in
continuous process, and stressed the need for concerted action so
that genuine democracy may prevail at the global level.”
Let me grant you that point too. In the meantime, if not democracy,
WHAT IS THE OTHER OPTION to govern a nation?
WHAT
IS THE OTHER OPTION
If
not governance and government by, of, and for the people? Tyranny?
To
establishing a government if not via free, open, and fair elections
and ballot casting? Bullets?
To
the rule of the law of the people? Rule by the barrel of the gun?
To
check-and-balance if not via independent executive, legislative, and
judiciary branches of a government? One-man rule?
To safeguard the peoples absolute sovereignty over their social, cultural, political, and economic matters and over their land if not democracy?
Tyranny?
The
list goes on and on, but take that for now.
The
purpose and intent of out-and-out tyrants hosting a conference on
“Democracy in Africa: Current Situation and Prospects”
is not to find answers to my queries, that is obvious, it is tyranny
all the way, or an attempt to foster democracy, that would mean tyrann's voluntary suicide mission, it is all nothing but an absolutely
ridiculous show and a desperately desperate attempt to justify tyranny by way of nitpicking
and flyspecking democracy. Ha ha ha ha! Don't you think the international community, particularly Eritreans, know who is lecturing what on democracy? Nice try!
