tyrant Gadaffi(l) and his buddy Eritrea tyrant Afewarki(r) in "The
Mirage of African Union"
In
an article entitled “The Mirage of the African Union”
which they posted on their website,AfricanLiberty.org, editor
Franklin Cudjoe and contributor Alhassan Atta-Quayson point out AU's
hypocrisy in singling out Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki for
“state-sponsored terrorism, whilst
others such as Sudan, Madagascar and Mauritania, renegades of true
democracy are still plying their violent and near-violent trade
against ordinary citizens.” Then,
the authors refer to Afewarki's response to that “calling
the AU a full house of disenchanted musical chairs, notoriously
toothless and straight –jacketed thinkers” and
term it “might just be right.” But that 'might just be
right' not for reasons the authors think. Had the AU caved in to
Afewarki's 'My Way or the highway' tyrannical modus operandi, tyrant
Afewarki would not only have been an honarable member athe staunchest
defender of the club he is now slanderin the way he did! As a matter
of fact, Afewarki would have hailed this same AU to skies had it gone
his tyrannical way!
Furher,
the authors redicule AU for electing as its chairman, Col. Muammar
al-Gaddafi, a person that “made
an embarrassing mockery of democracy on the continent when he stated
in a keynote address at an AU summit at Addis Ababa, that democracy
in Africa only leads to bloodshed.”
Well, I've got news for the authors: Tyrant Afewarki, whose
slanderous reference to AU you, the authors, termed 'might just be
right' has since adapted this Gaddafi's 'embarrassing' remarks
unedited and made them to his own since! Tyrant Afewarki is on a
crusade making
mockery of democracy in Africa
and has become a champion of Gaddafi's refrain “democracy
in Afica only leads to bloodshed.”
Yes, tyrant Afewarki has made those Gaddafi's remarks on democracy
that the authors call 'embarrassing' to his signature slogan!
