Eritrea
Tyrant Afewarki Speaks Only For Himself
08
June 2009 Berhane
M Tekeste
 As
far as the sovereign people and country of Eritrea are concerned,
Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki speaks only for himself and acts only
on his own behalf
Last
month, Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki was all over the international
media spouting all he wanted about a very wide range of issues
covering domestic, national, and international matters including
Eritrea's relationship with its neighbors, matters of peace &
war, sovereignty issues, governance, human rights etc. Yet, may the
record so reflect firmly that as far as the sovereign people and
country of Eritrea are concerned, and that is what at stake here and
matters, Eritrea tyrant Afewarki speaks only for himself and acts
only on his own behalf . Need I elaborate on that? No, I don't want
to be hit with highest degree of redundancy here, for, the political
reality in Eritrea speaks for itself plane, simple, loud and clear,
even Afewarki himself doesn't make any secret of it and it is indeed
an open secret!
Continuing
on the above, this year, the 24th
of May, Eritrea Independence Day, was
an especially memorable day for at least the following remarkably
unforgettable reasons:
Unlike
prior years, Eritrea tyrant Afewarki quit to identify this special
day by Name (Independence Day) and duration (18th
Anniversary)
for very obvious reasons: independence not compatible with tyranny,
and the duration would remind people of how long Afewarki has been
in power! So, he referred to it simply in generic terms: Auspicious Day! No tag or date! Clever!!
This
time around, Tyrant Afewark engaged in unprecedented though
solicited interview marathon(over 24 consecutive appearances
according to my count) believing, in his lunatic mind, that
he could prove entire humanity wrong on its long-held and upheld
basic societal norms like democracy, justice, elections, human
rights, freedom of speech etc. only
to end up talking out himself to utter imbecility! “It
looks like a duck, has every thing that makes it a duck, walks,
talks, quacks like a duck, it is a duck, regardless, to tyrant
Afewarki, it's not a duck, it's a goat, firm!!”lol.
Tyrant
Afewarki provided humanity with a unique opportunity to see how
classic schizophrenic paranoia expresses itself in real life in his
own person, live on TV!
Now,
grant me the liberty to indulge you with some quotes from Afewarkis
interview with a Swedish reporter and Reuters:
Swedish
reporter:
How
do you define democracy?
Afewarki:
Democracy means 'majority rule'! For
starters, democracy means 'people's rule' not majority rule! Majority
rule is a procedure, among others, that 'people's rule' grants people
in making decisions!
How
do you determine 'majority' without elections?
Afewarki:
We have our own ways!
What
do you call those ways?
Afewarki:
Not fun of labeling things!
You
say you have the best political system, what do you call this 'best
system'?
Afewarki:
Not a fun of labeling things!
Reuters:
How
much longer in power? --
Afewarki:
"I don't know ... You don't plan life." Translation:
Until death parts him from life!
On
opposition to Afewarki
"We
have a very powerful opposition and that is the CIA. It buys people,
and you can find that kind of Eritrean anywhere."!
There
is a line of argument that Afewarki parrots persistently and
continuously for purposes of domestic consumption: “democracy
means establishing the necessary institutions, assuring food
security, economic emancipation, social justice, improving people's
lives, necessary infrastructure, peace, stability etc”.
Sounds good and well, but such undertakings and enterprises are
neither self-starting nor self-effecting processes. You need a
government of, by, and for the people of Eritrea for that? Afewarki's
response: 'Forget national constitution, sovereignty of the people of
Eritrea, parliament, elections, like it or not, I am the government,
come get me if you can'?
Eritreans
at home have no other option but to oblige or else? What do anti
tyrannical Eritreans abroad have to say to that? Well, listen below what
fellow compatriot from the UK by the name Tekeste Ghdey has to say to
that. Mr. Tekeste's editorial, with which editorial I in essence concur
too, was aired on Dimtsi Messelna Delina on Saturday, 6 June 2009
under the title in Tigrigna “Ato
Isayas Kem Akarayi Geza, Hizbi Eritrea Kem Tekharayi Geza zikonella hager”.
