Eritrea:
Certified Tyrant Preaching Selflessness!
20
June 2009 Berhane
M Tekeste
Certified,
out-and-out Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki preaching and demandig
Selflessness!
Speaking
in his capacity as the undisputed Landlord of the private Estate of
Eritrea on the occasion of Martyrs Day, yesterday 20 June, certified
Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki preached and demanded “people
and generations that champion
the
values of "
selflessness
and
giving priority to the people above anything else,”
Emphasis mine. How about that? This is coming from certified,
out-and-out tyrant whose every fiber of his system is utterly devoid
of any trace of 'selflessness' now turning around preaching and
demanding same from others? What else makes tyrants like Afewarki
tyrants if it were not for the utter lack and absolute negation of
'selflessness'?
Afewarki
is fighting tooth and nail against what he is preaching and demanding from others
(selflessness) by constantly redefining and re-inventing
the measures of selflessness where it matters most like:
Governance
and government of , by, and for the people of Eritrea that he negated by
governance and government of, by, and for Afewarki, call it tyranny
instead of democracy
negation
of political pluralism
negation
of elections- Afewarki has declared himself president of the land
until death parts him
negation
of the law of the people, national constitution, that he replaced
with the law of the barrel of the gun
How about tyrant Afewarki the defendant, prosecutor, judge, and law of the land at the same time? Talk about selflessness!
How about tyrant Afewarki the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary branch of a government at the same time? Couldn't be any more selfless than that, huh?
"My
way or the highway" domestic and foreign policy, etc. you name
it...............
As
you can tell, Afewarki's pitch for 'selflessness' beats the highest
degree of phoniness and hypocrisy. Selflessness is the term Afewarki
deploys to dupe the people into believing that all calls for
democracy, elections, political pluralism are self-centered because
they serves the purpose and interest of the few!
The
other thing that struck me from tyrant Afewarki's word yesterday is
not so uncommon but worth mentioning: Afewarki has redefined and
re-invented all societal norms to fit tyranny. And on this Martyrs
Day, Afewarki redefined and re-invented the cause our compatriots
martyred themselves for too! He reduced it to ensuring
national sovereignty and building an Eritrea “into a Homeland
where succeeding generations are proud of and lead a secure and
prosperous life”!
There was no talk about the cause of governance and government of,
by, and for the people of Eritrea (democracy), human rights, justice,
rule of law, freedom of speech, religion, assembly, press, all that
what our Martyrs sacrificed their precious lives for!
National
sovereignty in the form of national independence is what our martyrs
delivered not once but twice by sacrificing life and limb: First in
1991 and then during the border war when tyrant Afewarki messed with
our national sovereignty attained 1991 and more Martyrs had to
sacrifice their precious life to re-claim.
Ensuring
national sovereignty and nation building is a non-issue for it is a
given. It the job of a national government for why would people
sacrifice their lives for national sovereignty they can't ensure and
nation building they can't undertake? Who is kidding whom here? There
is a very good reason why nations maintain a national army(ensure
national sovereignty?) and there is an equally good reason why
nations need a national government (nation building?). A certified
tyrant like Eritrea tyrant Afewarki, egoistic in essence and nature,
has no moral authority to preach and demand selflessness!
Want more? OK! Tyrant Afewarki exposed his lack of selflessness already only 3 years into national independence in 1994. At the time Afewarki boasted: Although, out of sheer humility, we have said otherwise, the EPLF is the one and only force that wrested the independence of this country; like it or not, there's no and can't be any other government in this country but the EPLF and the EPLF only; if we wanted to install a tyrannical government, there's no force that would stop us, whatsoever!(Rough translation from Tigrigna. Listen to the original audio audio below). I rest my
case. Any rebuttal? You are welcome!
