In matters Somalia, Eritrea tyrant Isias Afewarki is talking to his lone self because by his own admission he is alone in that!

“In regard to Eritrea's political position on Somalia, Eritrea has been criticized for not falling in line with the "international consensus". But, Eritrea has a right to hold an independent position, even a dissenting one.” So let Afewarki the world know via a press statement already in July 2009. Nothing wrong if tyrant Afewarki would leave it at that. But Afewaki doesn't. The tyrant is out to imposing his will by sabotaging international consensus by whatever means he only could and he is not shy to telegraphic his intentions publicly either (audio below). That is why he is getting in trouble with the international community. But again, there is the international community and there's tyrant Afewarki. The former coexists and does business according to mutually achieved international consensus, but for the latter, tyrant Afewarki, there is neither international community nor “international consensus” but international conspiracy to get him!

By the way, talking to one's self is not an atypical behavior but emblematic of people that have no one else to talk to! For instance, in matters Somalia or for that matter Dijibouti and Ethiopia too, Eritrea tyrant Afewarki has no one to talk to because he has antagonized pertinent regional organization like IGAD, continental organization like the African Union (AU), international organization like the United Nations, or international power houses like the United States or The United Kingdom by dismissing them all either as instruments of Neo colonialism or spies of western agents out to get him! But it is not all lost for Afewarki, there's another international body that is all willing to lend the tyrant a listening ear should he seek its help for no other reason than for the fun of letting the tyrant talk himself out to sublime stupidity: The international media in the form of video-taped interviews! The latest being Reuters on Wednesday 21 October 2009.

In that interview, Eritrea tyrant blamed Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya for fanning the chaos in Somalia. Well, apart from being a futile attempt to change the subject to the issue Afewarki has with his nemesis south of the border and a game of whataboutery, Afewarki is again alone in his claim against the said countries for they together with even Afewarki's bosom friend Gaddafi of Libya and the entire globe are, yes, in line with the international consensus on Somalia (TFG) in words and deeds, while tyrant Afewarki is the only person that has repeatedly and publicly pledged to support rebel forces (Al Shabab) that are trying to unseat by force the Somali transitional governmental arrangement, TFG.
