Eritrea: Entire National Football Team Defects-Audio Report

Eritrean National Footbal Team gone missing in Kenya

The entire national Football (Soccer) Team of Eritrea has defected in Kenya. The news which was first broken by an exiled Eritrean opposition website has now been incontrovertibly confirmed by BBC's Focus on Africa program today. Quoting reliable sources, the UK-based website, www.assenna.com, yesterday reported that the entire football team except for the coach and the accompanying colonel failed to return home following a regional tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.

As usual, the first reaction of Eritrea tyrant's propaganda machinery is denial even in the face of concrete and tangible evidence of the truth of the matter: entire team was a no show in Asmara! The general secretary of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Nicholas Musonye told Hassan Aruni of Focus on Africa that the plane landed in Asmara without the players and that the boss of Eritrean Football federation, Mr. Tesfay has confirmed the players went missing.
