EU Implements Int'l Restrictive Measures Against Eritrea Ruler

Brussels, Belgium (EU)-- The European Union today issued a statement announcing that it in line with obligations of UN member states is implementing UN sanctions imposed against Eritrea ruler, Isias Afewrki per UN Resolution 1907 of 23 December 2009.

The Council today adopted a decision1 (5534/10) imposing restrictive measures against Eritrea in line with the United Nations Security Council resolution (UNSCR) 1907 (2009).

The restrictive measures consist of an arms embargo, as well as travel restrictions and a freeze of assets against persons and entities designated by the UN sanctions committee, said the press statement. For original statement click here.
