Eritrea Tyrant Wants Sanctions Panel Substituted By One Of His Choice!

24 December 2011

As has always been the case, what is good for the international community, humanity, and the rest of the world is and has never been good for Eritrea tyrant Isias Afareki.

This time it is about UN Sanctions Panel known as Somalia Eritrea Sanctions Monitoring Group (SEMG) whose most recent comprehensive report on the matter was so damaging to the tyrant that he has been hit with yet another round of tougher and, judging by the tyrant's reaction, apparently debilitating UN Sanctions on 5 December 2011 by a vote of 13 and no dissent out of 15 votes. Now, tyrant Afareki wants the SEMG to be dissolved and substituted by one of his choice and hence whose decision the tyrant fantasizes would be in his favor! This is exactly how the tyrant reacted when the African Union called for him to be sanctioned. At the time, tyrant Afareki called for the AU to be complete annihilated and to be  replaced by yet another totally different organization that would serve the tyrant!

Tyrant Afareki concluded his
13-page letter he sent to the Security Council dated 19 December 2011, by urging the Council, inter alia, "In this light, Eritrea urges the UN Security Council "to establish an independent, impartial and credible body in place of the Monitoring Group". Hopefully, the Council obliges becasue in his letter, the tyrant has warned and threatened "The Security Council Resolution 2023 (2011) will aggravate regional polarization and further undermine regional peace and security"! Scary, scary! The Council better annull the resolution immediately!

In his letter, the tyrant submits the following too:
"it (Eritrea tyrant) does not harbour great hopes that this present letter will fare any better" than the countless prior letters, one might add. Indeed, saying/doing the same thing over and over is the established definition of insanity that is why the tyrant's present letter will not fare any better for there is nothing absolutely nothing new to narrate!  Regardless, the tyrant is doing it any way for the heck of it!

One more thing the tyrant submits in his letter further "..
the Monitoring Group has failed to garner the support of many members of the Security Council due to its lack of independence, professionalism, impartiality, and objectivity as well as its susceptibility to political influence.."! Wow! May be that is why all members of the council, that is a vote of 15 to 0, decided to adopt resolution 2002 (2011) on July 29, 2011 which resolution not only extended the mandate for 12 months but also expanded the scope of concerns of the Monitoring Group?
