It is real and it is here! Dreaded by the only operational mining company, Nevsun Resources Ltd. Of Canada, under the title "Hear No Evil: Forced Labor and Corporate Responsibility in Eritrea’s Mining Sector", Human Rights Watch has today released detailed report on human abuse at same Nevsun Company's Bisha Mine In Eritrea.
Nevsun advertises its mining biz in Eritrea as a low cost gold production! But, at what cost though? At the cost of grave human abuse even by its own admission albeit 'unwittingly' or being out of its control! Nevsun's response: We didn't do it! That is never an excuse or justification to look away from blatant human abuse?
When crime is committed at the backyard of Nevsun and Nevsun does nothing, then Nevsun becomes silent complicit in the matter?
Nevsun's Bisha Mine in Eritrea only operational mine, produced $614m of ore in a year, but claims of human rights abuses are raising concerns.
