Fiscally Strapped, Eritrea Tyrant Grounds Eritrean Airlines!

15 November 2013

Asmara, Eritrea--- Come 1st Dec 2013, Eritrean Airlines is no more! Fiscal malaise have forced Eritrea tyrant Isias Afareki to ground Eritrean Airlines on said date, Paris-based independent Eritrean Tigrigna Radio station, Radio Erena, reported yesterday quoting reliable sources in Asmara.

The tyrant laid off numerous employees of Eritrean Airlines on day before yesterday, 13 Nov 2013, the rest of the employees will be sent home by 23 Nov 2013, the report added.

This is the 3rd time fiscal malaise forcing Eritrea tyrant to ground the said sole national airliner since begin of its international flights 11 years ago, year 2002. Even the recent Pakistani management of the Airliner could not help the Airliner from going bankrupt!.

Currently, the only two Airliners from and to Eritrea are Yemen and Egypt Air. Another Airliner in Asmara, NasAir, unknown ownership, continues to run occasional flights to and from Sudan and Dubai!

Although Eritrean Airlines ceased flights to Frankfurt, Germany because EU's division of Aviation Safety banned Eritrean Airlines from landing in Europe, the Airliner was able to run flights to Rome, Italy, Erena elaborated.

The one Airliner, Germany's Lufthansa, that have provided reliable flights to and from Asmara announced it is ceasing its operations to Eritrea a couple of weeks ago.

Eritrean Airlines, whose flights has been limited to Sudan, Dubai, and Rome is now no more!

All that is happening in a Land widely dubbed mining bonanza and gem of the horn of Africa! That said, past month and currently, Eritrea has been hit with the Lampedusa massacre of its youth, Saudi Arabia crackdown, Air Force defections. Yet, Eritrea tyrant has remained mum to this date!
This, necessarily begs the question: Is Eritrea tyrant Isias Afareki breathing at all? So far, no evidence of that?
