Israel: Rule of Law or Rule of Might in Handling African Refugees?
23 September 2014

Yesterday, Israel's Supreme Court ordered the government to release thousands of African Refugees it has jailed without trial , mainly Eritreans and Sudanese, and to close the Holot Detention center within 90 days!

Right away Israel's government rejected the ruling and told the  court 'none of your business, just butt out!' or in the words of the Interior Minister: "The protection of Israeli borders and citizens are the responsibility of the government not the courts. There need to be a limit to the authority of the courts to rule on these issues!" With that the High courts decision is in limbo!

What is it in Israel? Rule of Law or Rule of Might in handling African Refugees?

Talk about Israeli double/tripple click Democracy : When the ruling is in favor of the government you cick on the ruling once, and if the ruling is not in favor of the government, you double, tripple click on the ruling and trash it, what democracy!
