The Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the United States, Girma Asmerom, will hold an Afternoon Newsmaker press conference on Tuesday, May 25, at 2 p.m. in the Zenger Room of the National Press Club, 529 14th St., N.W., in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Asmerom will discuss "Eritrea and the United States:Partners Against Terrorism."

Located on the Red Sea across from the Arabian Peninsula, Eritrea is a strategic ally of the United States in the global war on terrorism. Ambassador Asmerom will address this in the context of regional developments in the Horn of Africa, Eritrea's decision to join in the "Coalition of the Willing," and its own experience with domestic and cross-border terrorism.
