Sudanese Communist Party, Darfur rebels sign coop agreement
Sudan, Jul 21, 2004 - The Sudanese Communist Party and a
rebel faction in Darfur western Sudan have signed a cooperation agreement. The
agreement will enable the two sides to establish cooperation between them
inside and outside Sudan.
The two parties will also coordinate in efforts to revealed
and block [human rights] violations in Darfur. A newspaper statement in Asmara,
Eritrea, said that JEM delegation led by Dr Khalil Ibrahim, met on 11 July a
delegation of the Communist party led by, Dr Al-Shafi Khydhir.
According to the statement, the meeting discussed the
general situation in Sudan and especially the situation in Darfur besides
discussing ways of coming up with cooperation and how to develop them. [passage
