France calls for full implementation of Eritrea/Ethiopia Truce [Aps 21/8/04] Paris - France is expecting "the full implementation of Algiers agreements" on the peace process between Ethiopia and Eritrea, declared Friday France Foreign Ministry hailing the decision by the Ethiopian authorities to re-authorise direct flights by the UN between Addis Ababa and Asmara. Such a decision will be helpful in rebuilding confidence between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
France which remains "concerned about the persisting stalemate in the peace process between the two countries," is awaiting the full implementation of Algiers agreements, in particular the decision by the arbitration commission and its final, binding nature not brought into question.
France also renews its call to Ethiopia and Eritrea to establish broad political dialogue which is essential for the necessary normalisation of relations between the two countries and crucial for the success of the peace process. [Algérie Presse Service 21/8/04] |
