German police immediately arrested Betew, 25, who
landed at the giant German airport on Tuesday morning on a flight from Asmara,
Eritrea.
"We still
do not know where - or if - the suspect had intended to travel on from
Frankfurt," said police inspector Ernst Rossebø of Rogaland police.
The
25-year-old, a Norwegian citizen of Eritrean origin, is believed to have played
a key role in the brutal robbery, which not only was one of the most ambitious
ever seen in Norway, but also resulted in the death of a police officer.
Rogaland police
said they were now concentrating on having Betew extradited to Norway.
